-Click it to see why everyone may be confused about gyaru, or any style.

dammit, it is NOT NECESSARY to wear circle lenses to be ‘gyaru’.

there are no real rules whatsoever.

people should stop ruining a movement that originally was about having fun, living your life and freedom, instead of making up stupid ass ‘rules’ about what is gyaru and what isn’t.

Then why use the term gyaru instead of a fashionable girl who likes to have fun. Why use the word Gyaru, what is so important about using the word. Isnt being a girl and doing makeup fun enough.

Its like saying gamer girl, what makes you a gamer girl. Just because you picked up on control for one game dont make you a gamer. Why is it so important to be a gamer girl.

There has to be a reason people would go over seas for a word to apply to their style. Gyaru is a style, and just like any style, you cant go around calling yourself goth if your a barbie girl.

What im trying to find is what makes gyaru, gyaru and circle lens is part of why I go over seas to claim the term gyaru.

right. it’s a style. style does not necessarily include wearing lenses.

it’s about fashion.

circle lenses can be a part of it. but why reduce the whole style to the lenses?!

there are so many sub genres of gyaru.

gyaru is NOT about ‘following rules’ or a dresscode.

i remember why i don’t wanna be part of a bitchy community like this.

I didnt reduce it to lenses, Im saying its part of what makes it different from many other styles. It has a really great relationship with gyaru and only one of the elements that is almost like a staple to gyaru. Like other styles you dont have to follow only 3 elements their are maybe 8 or more that can be pointed out and mixed with other style and yet you still look gyaru, yet most of these sub styles just MAKES a new style instead of making another category for gyaru. I think it was said Gaijin gyaru is a style of its own its not gyaru gyaru. Im starting to see maybe they are right.

I mean to have a sub style their must be a few elements to match the MAIN style, like a fingerprint to identify it as “hey its gyaru” instead of ” hey its lolita”. What are those elements?

So if scene has rules and goth has rules and lolita have staple rules, why cant gyaru? How far subs should go? You haven’t answer the questions I have at hand your only trying to protect being a normal girl with makeup can be gyaru as well which is unfair to those gyarus that tried to look different from Normal. Normal is not the meaning of gyaru or how it started is where im getting at. But what makes gyaru different other than lenses, you haven’t answered that as well? Or maybe your explaining gaijin gyaru which is maybe different? And why must it not have rules whats the big deal? If you want freedom why not just be yourself, be your own style? Why is this title that important to you?

And please, dont use the pettiness with me because you and me both know im not attacking or bitching Im just asking question. Dont have to answer all yet one would be nice.

You should stop acting up when you can defend why gyaru shouldn’t have rules and or what is your meaning and why it is different from any other style that is much more free to do. Why choose gyaru? I mean to you its not a dresscode, so why the hell go over seas for the word instead of staying true to yourself?

“i remember why i don’t wanna be part of a bitchy community like this.”

449 coming w/ dat faux outrage.

Just read the blog post and it is not even that serious. Glee isn’t claiming to be some authority figure on what’s gyaru and what’s not. It’s an opinion piece on flipping makeup. Also, circle lenses do indeed help.. a lot.

Anyway, no one claimed anything was an actual ‘rule’. I don’t know where you even got that from. It’s like you just made something up and started running with it while riling your own self up.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a gyaru irl not wearing circle lenses tbh though. js
